Summary

A brilliant and touching romantic comedy from the USA Today bestselling author of The Friend Zone and The Happy Ever After Playlist。

Vanessa lives life on her own terms — one day at a time, every day to its fullest。 She isn’t willing to waste a moment or miss out on an experience when she has no idea whether she shares the same fatal genetic condition as her mother。 Besides, she has way too much to do, traveling the globe and showing her millions of YouTube followers the joy in seizing every moment。

But after her half-sister suddenly leaves Vanessa in custody of her infant daughter, she is housebound, on mommy duty for the foreseeable future, and feeling totally out of her element。

The last person she expects to show up offering help is the unbelievably hot lawyer who lives next door, Adrian Copeland。 After all, she barely knows him。 But as they get closer, Vanessa realizes that her carefree ways and his need for a structured plan could never be compatible for the long term。 Then again, she should know better than anyone that life’s too short to fear taking the biggest risk of all。 。 。

4。5 really enjoyed。 Loved the connection to Happily Ever Playlist。 Liked Happily Ever After Playlist more, but this author sucked me in right away。 Never wanted to put down。 So suspenseful before the main characters got together。

Just fun and cute。

I liked this book, but some of the character dialogue felt too cheesy or cliche。 Easy read, cutesy romance though!

Loved this book with all my ugly, crying heart! Abby Jimenez hits it out of the park once again! I listened to Friend Zone, Happily Ever After Playlist & Life's Too Short on audio, but own physical copies of all three, too。 The narrators have always done such a fantastic job bringing Abby's characters to life。 Romance, family dynamics, drama, serious issues covered, witty banter。。。Jimenez covers all the bases & in such a realistic & amazing way! I'm not sure if I actually liked her other books more or was already used to her writing by this 3rd book, but I didn't think this one was as good。 It's a quick, easy, read, but I found it so cheesy and predictable。 I'm not sure if I actually liked her other books more or was already used to her writing by this 3rd book, but I didn't think this one was as good。 It's a quick, easy, read, but I found it so cheesy and predictable。 。。。more

So good。 This author makes you laugh out loud and then cry as you contemplate your life through a different lens。 I’m amazed by how she approaches hard topics so well。

I literally loved this book, it was kinda a slow burn but the chemistry was astronomical。 I started it like at 10 pm and could not put it down。 I’d definitely recommend:)

WOW WOW WOWI have had a rollercoaster relationship with The Friend Zone books and almost didn't pick this one up until I saw my friend Jess' review (so good go check it out)。 Needless to say, she was right, it was amazing, I loved this and WOW all the feels。This book opens fairly crazy - Adrian and his GF can't sleep thanks to a baby screaming her lungs out in the apartment next door。 He goes to ask if the baby can be moved to a further room in the apartment so he can sleep and we。 are。 off。 Van WOW WOW WOWI have had a rollercoaster relationship with The Friend Zone books and almost didn't pick this one up until I saw my friend Jess' review (so good go check it out)。 Needless to say, she was right, it was amazing, I loved this and WOW all the feels。This book opens fairly crazy - Adrian and his GF can't sleep thanks to a baby screaming her lungs out in the apartment next door。 He goes to ask if the baby can be moved to a further room in the apartment so he can sleep and we。 are。 off。 Vanessa is a fire cracker, youtuber and dealing with some heavy life stuff, a potentially fatal medical diagnosis and fostering her sister's baby, dealing with a hoarded Dad and a hottie mchot next door neighbor。I loved this book。 I loved the characters, their story arc, the realness that Abby Jimenez served up and the focus on ALS。 Fun fact - my first job out of college I worked for a non-profit that was dedicated to raising money, awareness and services available to people diagnosed with ALS and I pray everyday for a cure, because this disease really, truly is the worst out there。 I hope this book helps shed light on it。My only complaint - every "Vanessa" chapter ended with some variation of "if I live to see it" or "I wonder how long I'll be around" and that felt tired to me about half way through the book。 Other than that - I absolutely loved this book and think this is hands down Jimenez's best book to date! This serves as a phenomenal beach/pool side read, but reader beware - it has way more heart and depth than a typical summer read! 。。。more

Sad to have finished the book and now have to wait another year for her next novel to come out! Would read any book she writes。

Well, it’s official - Abby Jimenez is now an auto-buy author for me。 Her books are so fun without being just a bunch of fluff。 Her characters face some heavy-hitting problems, and Jimenez has her characters face these issues with very real, raw feelings。 In each of her books, I find myself rooting for the main character and dreading the end of the time spent with these characters。 Luckily, Jimenez lets her readers catch up with previous characters through cameos。 I highly recommend her books - e Well, it’s official - Abby Jimenez is now an auto-buy author for me。 Her books are so fun without being just a bunch of fluff。 Her characters face some heavy-hitting problems, and Jimenez has her characters face these issues with very real, raw feelings。 In each of her books, I find myself rooting for the main character and dreading the end of the time spent with these characters。 Luckily, Jimenez lets her readers catch up with previous characters through cameos。 I highly recommend her books - especially for anyone in a reading slump。 。。。more

(Who is amazingly portable and never causes any trouble--wish my kids were like that, ha。) The book can be heartbreaking at times。 I honestly adored Adrian, his outlook on the world, and how supportive he was of Vanessa。 We could all use an Adrian to take care of us。 If you like romances, you'll enjoy this one。 It's cute and sweet, without being sickeningly so, and there are lots of moments that make you laugh。 It's also serious in places, covering illness and family。 It's not the best of the series, but it's worth a read。 Just be prepared for some frustration with some of the characters! 3。5 stars, rounded up。 Blog ~ Twitter ~ Facebook ~ Instagram ~ PaperBackSwap ~ Smashbomb 。。。more

Miss Abby Jimenez, you did it again! This book is devastatingly good。 A work of art。Vanessa Price is a popular YouTube Vlogger who spends her time and money raising awareness for ALS, a fatal genetic condition who took her sister away from her, and who she suspects she shares。 But when her half-sister suddenly leaves her in custody of her baby daughter, Vanessa is forced to take a step back from work。 Unexpected help comes to her from her hot, sexy neighbor, lawyer Adrian Copeland, and sparks fl Miss Abby Jimenez, you did it again! I enjoyed reading this and used every spare minute to see what would happen with Vanessa, Adrian and Grace。 It is 4 stars for me because I did not enjoy it as much as the first two in this loose series。

It started off cute and funny。 I liked the characters。 Then the story itself becacame repetitive。 The dialogue covering the same ground over and over。 I was bored by it but I don't like to bail on books half way through。 Before I was finished I noticed the discussion questions and inexplicable recipes at the back。 Groan。 I was actually rooting for something bad to happen。 It started off cute and funny。 I liked the characters。 Then the story itself becacame repetitive。 The dialogue covering the same ground over and over。 I was bored by it but I don't like to bail on books half way through。 Before I was finished I noticed the discussion questions and inexplicable recipes at the back。 Groan。 I was actually rooting for something bad to happen。 。。。more

It’s amazing what realistic problems do for a book。 I’ve been reading more romances now, and they seem to be plagued with stupid problems that would be instantly resolved with people who just acted like they were in 10th grade instead of 8th。 This isn’t that book。 While the money seems to be endless from fountains unexplained, the challenges Adrian and Vanessa face are real, the impasse they come to is real, and the development of their relationship is real。 While there still are a few high scho It’s amazing what realistic problems do for a book。 I’ve been reading more romances now, and they seem to be plagued with stupid problems that would be instantly resolved with people who just acted like they were in 10th grade instead of 8th。 This isn’t that book。 While the money seems to be endless from fountains unexplained, the challenges Adrian and Vanessa face are real, the impasse they come to is real, and the development of their relationship is real。 While there still are a few high school moments, they are short-lived and followed by adult conversation。 It’s a bit of an emotional roller coaster, but a believable one that will happily take you along for the ride。 。。。more

Another good one by Abby Jimenez。 I absolutely loved Vanessa and Adrian, at least until the last quarter of the book。 Vanessa lives life to the fullest and it’s really hard not to admire her thirst for life and refusal to ‘look into the sun’ for too long。 Adrian is a lawyer with some control issues, it was great watching him loosen up a bit when Vanessa whirled into his life。 They both just fit into each other’s life seamlessly and I loved the make shift family they created。 Adrian kept his head Another good one by Abby Jimenez。 I absolutely loved Vanessa and Adrian, at least until the last quarter of the book。 Vanessa lives life to the fullest and it’s really hard not to admire her thirst for life and refusal to ‘look into the sun’ for too long。 Adrian is a lawyer with some control issues, it was great watching him loosen up a bit when Vanessa whirled into his life。 They both just fit into each other’s life seamlessly and I loved the make shift family they created。 Adrian kept his head in the sand when it came to Vanessa’s health so I wanted to yell at him when everything kind of blew up but I could understand his side, you always want the one’s you love to fight。 I felt for Vanessa but she kind of annoyed the crap out of me towards the end there, her entire mantra was to live life to the fullest and hold nothing back but then she takes off and pretty much cuts everyone out of her life so they can get used to things without her… after her just lecturing Adrian to be happy with spending all of her remaining days together it seem like she was giving me whiplash。 Besides the roller coaster of emotions and actions by Vanessa, she still had my heart with her devotion to raising money and awareness for ALS。 Seriously, there was so much to love about this book, and all 'The Office' references were icing on the cake! Christine Lakin and Zachary Webber both did an amazing job narrating the story and bringing the characters to life。 。。。more
